It didn't look like a solid shot (his body took all the energy) to me and I think the shooter got a little lucky.

The wound and his response makes me think 60-70 grains at that distance is on the lighter side.

The Trump assassination attempt was clearly staged. Just watch the video, you can literally see he's standing on a stage.

Trump's shooter used a .223, which was an objectively poor choice for that shot. I think Trump owes his life, in part, to that choice.

Today's assassination was a 200 yd shot and, judging by the video, was definitely not a .223.

I think this contrasts a person who didn't know much about guns to this case where I think the shooter is much more familiar.
