The onion hits close to home again.
A guy I had known for a couple of years died a few months back. When I went to visit him in the hospital the day before he died they wrote a different last name on the visitor pass they issued to me than what I knew him by. After his death I was trying to find funeral info. I found nothing under the name I knew him by but when I googled him using the name written on the pass I found a Missouri state highway patrol page that listed him as a sex offender who assaulted a 12 year old about 10 years before I met him. He had done 5 years in prison.
He was a vocal Trump supporter.

So we have to protect ourselves from the folks we pay to protect us.

We don't pay them to protect us. We pay them to enforce laws. Remember Uvaldi Tx and the Supreme Court ruling that police generally have no constitutional duty to protect the public?

Trump also appointed Lawrence Taylor to the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition which is ironic since he's probably not allowed within 1000 feet of schools.

My grandma died in an asylum after Grandpa had her institutionalized. She left him to room with a woman, non-romantic. He claimed she was having an affair and that she was incapable of caring for herself because she had stopped cleaning the house when she was with him. She had sunk into a deep depression due to the physical and sexual abuse he subjected her to but the court wasn't interested in hearing about that.

Trump have immunity to a child sex trafficker and his cult is fine with that.
