The first 48ish hours are going to see this story change dramatically. The only thing I'm confident pinning on this kid is that he was emotionally 'off' and down an unhinged road.

I don't think all Universities fit the atmosphere described, however, my son is a Senior at Northwestern and absolutely describes it this way. So as with most things different schools different realities.

Some of the homeless do need institutional help to ever have a chance of recovering, while some just need a cash break to get out of the cycle they're in.

Giving money to the prior is wasting money, and vice versa for the other group.
