Given that people are willing to vote for Mamdani and for Trump, it still boggles my mind that people view entertaining voting for a 3rd party candidate as a wasted vote. Everyone seems to be sick of "traditional" politicians, but can't seem to break out of the "traditional" party mindset.

Next election give both parties a big middle finger and vote for a 3rd party candidate. The wake up call to both parties that we aren't going to vote for your crap or the extremists running under your banner would be immense.

Exhibit B ... The Payday loan industry lobbies the RNC, and donates heavily. So there is definitely a strong link.

Exhibit A ... The 2nd amendment was possibly the best idea, complementing the 1st as a guarantee of it's defense. Does it come with a costly buy in, it does, but the alternative is less appealing.

I never said either way if I do or do not think Trump and the far right are fasicsts. I said my friend, unless you agree with her completely, will call me and everyone else a fascist. It is possible to oppose Trump in different ways or degrees than the far left wants everyone to and NOT be a fascist. But if you throw the label at every moderate... then you run into #70. Labelling everyone with a different viewpoint from you as part of the problem, just turns us off to wanting to push back against what we see as being wrong. YOU'RE the problem and you don't even know it.

Note I still refer to them as my friend, I doubt they do me at this point. Not because I have debated with them, but because I do not engaged with them anymore.

For reference I'm referring to a long time friend I have that I have just stopped engaging with. Every one of their posts starts with at least two or three all caps MAGANAZI or NAZIFACIST riddled sentences that at this point are almost bereft of a point. If I do anything less than meet that with equal vitriol 100% in line with her point of view I am then called one too. Her posts are an attempt to persuade others to join pushing back against Trump. She is probably right about Trump being in the wrong, but it just makes me scroll past. If you think this is a unique situation, you're not listening to the middle.

The left would be better served by engaging in some more even keeled discussion. I know it seems contrary, but all of my leftists friends personal posts, conversations, etc, are heated. Which I get the anger, but when you engage a moderate who has slightly differing views some of which may lean right it immediately turns into a litmus test and the moderate is vilified. If the left courted moderates there could be a unifying voice pressure our leaders. Instead we have the far right with too much control, the far left with too much anger, and the middle being shouted down if any sort of nuanced discussion is attempted.

Corky can't digest that Left is in a prime position to shine a light on the Right and win people back, but instead because they feel righteous, they are going to be insufferable. Then wonder why they aren't picking up voters.

So yes, the feel good action and the improve the situation aren't going to be the same.

Neither side of the Aisle is doing anything to improve the situation, and just keep upping the intensity of the divide between the two.

Watching both sides of the aisle grasp at bits of information on this kid in desperate attempt to dunk on the other side of the aisle just spotlights everything wrong in our politics and media.

Eventually this kid is going to turn out to be a square peg in a world of round holes trying to find something to identify with and probably having no real ideology other than wanting to belong somewhere.
