I also designed motors that were "essential to the military effectiveness" of submarines.

But back in the day, I was never able to find out the end use of those motors.

Not really a surprise.

I did note, back then that the design specs for those motors were more specific, quite more specific, than the motors I had designed for nuclear power plant cooling towers.

I freely admit that back in the 70's I was granted an exempt status from the draft because of my college endeavors.

I will also say, as a result of those endeavors (a Degree in Electrical Engineering) I wnet on to work for a company, designing equipment that was "essential to the military effectiveness of the ship." fwiw, that phrase has stuck with me.

As an Electrical Engineer back in the day, I designed motors that were deemed to be "essential to the military effectiveness of the ship."

One such motor powered a hydraulic pump.

What was so special about that hydraulic pump?

Well, it was the pump that powered the elevator that brought the fighters from below-decks on an aircraft carrier to the flight deck so they could be used.

And after I designed those motors, and as they were being built, vI went into the factory to thank the workers who were building those critical motors.

OK that was a half-century ago in my life, but there it is. I am proud of it.

And, for the record, I do not in any shape manner or form try to do anything but respect those who serve our Country.

I do, however, have a concern about those who seem to raise such concerns for political purposes.

Serving the Country takes place on many levels.
