Vice President Kamala Harris' office has had high levels of staff turnover throughout her time in the office that far exceed other high-ranking officials in the federal government. Nearly 92% of the initial staff members hired after she took office in January of 2021 have left at some point during her nearly four years as vice president. Only four of the initial 47 hires from her first year have remained employed without interruption, according to an analysis of records obtained by Open the Books. read more

I'm a governor in a state that is purple -- it just is. I travel around the commonwealth consistently, listening to voters, and what I hear over and over again is a massive concern about the economic future and their ability to afford groceries, gas, tuition, and to buy a home or make rental payments. What I hear over and over again are major concerns about the millions of people that have come across the border and the hundreds of thousands of violent criminals that have crossed the border, just identified two weeks ago by senior ICE officials. What I also hear are major concerns about safety. These are the topics President Trump is talking about.

"This is a specific policy decision by your administration to release these men into the country," Baier said. "So what I'm saying to you, do you owe those families an apology?" "Let me just say- first of all, those are tragic cases. There's no question about that. There's no question about that," Harris said. "And I can't imagine the pain that the families of those victims have experienced for a loss that should not have occurred. So that is true. It is also true that if [the border security bill] had actually been passed nine months ago, it would be nine months that we would have had more border agents at the border, more support for the folks who are working around the clock trying to hold it all together to ensure that no future harm would occur." read more
