My grandparents definitely did but they lived through the Great Depression. My parents were raised in the prosperity following WWII.

All people common people have the potential to go through something at one time or another (especially the younger families) that could cause financial hardship, but it's not Alexa's, right now, 50% claim.

--------. NO safety net would be needed for the overwhelming majority if they didn't make bad decisions. People living pay check to paycheck are doing so because they don't want to cut frivolous spending out or they just simply made mad choices that they cant get out of in the short term. If someone can't make it on minimum wage, maybe it's time to get some training and find a new job. There are literally apprenticeships/trade schools littering the landscape of this country. Some are even free.You just want to make excuses for people so you can blame the current guy in charge.
