A mass shooting during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday left at least 10 people dead and 11 others injured, according to authorities. Potentially, a lot. Since 2002, tens of thousands of medical professionals served in war zones, treating victims who had been shot or blown up. Many of them likely went on to work as civilians in the medical field.
A few miles from my house is Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. For the past 24 years, it has been where injured service members were treated. My understanding is that it is still treating injured Ukrainians. If you have a cold or need any sort of routine medical treatment, the place is awful. For severe injuries, it might be the best treatment facility on the planet.
