To stay up to speed with all that is happening within the invite-only doors of the ruling class confab, the WEF recommends following along through a handful of social media sites. They include the U.S.-based narrative-compliant Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, along with the Chinese social media apps TikTok WeChat, and Weibo. Twitter, which has freed itself from the grasp of the WEF-endorsed censorship-compliant social apps, is no longer included. read more

California's recent decision to scoop tens of thousands of out-of-state online businesses onto its income tax rolls will likely spur other states to do the same, but not without courtroom battles over the state's legal rationale. Guidance from the state's Franchise Tax Board mirrors an August 2021 statement from the Multistate Tax Commission reinterpreting a federal law that has largely shielded out-of-state retailers from state income taxes for more than 60 years. read more
"Alleged cartel members carjacked residents' cars, set vehicles ablaze and intermittent gunfire could be heard into the afternoon, as Mexico authorities warned people to stay inside and airports in several Sinaloa cities remained closed."
Just days before U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Mexico, the country was thrown into chaos as alleged cartel members blocked off a northern Mexico airport, areas outside a local army base, and limited major access to the city of Culiacan, in an unsuccessful effort to thwart the capture of drug trafficker Ovidio Guzmn, son of infamous Sinaloa drug lord known as "El Chapo."
Mexican security forces captured Guzmn an alleged drug trafficker who is wanted by the U.S. for his involvement in the cartel's activities, in a predawn operation Thursday.
The incident spurred gunfights across the northwestern state's capital ahead of Biden's scheduled two-day visit on Jan. 9 for bilateral talks with Mexican President Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador and the North American Leaders' Summit with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In ther words, getting customers to subscribe, with monthly payments, for things they used to purchased and own outright.
Not exactly, there certainly is the trend towards subscription model, and over-advertising issues. I don't think companies can do this for much longer, as I sense a trending towards homebrew over corporate offerings.
But hi-tech used to be after monetizing eyeballs (ads), without thinking about the longer term revenue generation.
Email, Smart speakers, OnLine doc tools, offer little to the "lifetime value", and in fact drain the company of resources because they haven't been able to capitalize on them. This is a big conversation at Amazon currently regarding Alexa. So now when companies look at products/offerings they try to figure out the "lifetime value", rather than just getting eyeballs then figuring out how to monetize.

Why not the cartels operating in the area?
I bet this isn't politically (RvD) motivated.
