The University of Pennsylvania will block transgender athletes from female sports teams and erase the records set by swimmer Lia Thomas as part of an agreement with the federal government, the Department of Education said. The agreement comes as part of the Trump administration's broader restrictions on transgender people, as it steps up its efforts to ban transgender athletes from competing in women's sports nationwide and serving in the military. read more
Newsom doesn't want to fund California's new tough-on-crime law. Who should? Supporters of Prop. 36 wanted at least $250 million. The governor gave them nothing. California voters overwhelmingly approved a tough-on-crime ballot measure in the November election, but it still lacks hundreds of millions of dollars in funding as state legislators and Gov. Gavin Newsom battle over how to finance the new law. read more

Irrelevant, GWB put Hamas on the ballot in Gaza.
Without that Hamas wouldn't be where it is, no matter how big Hamas got with Israel support.

However, the way that Americans during World War II viewed the Japanese American internment was divisive.
A poll from the American Institute of Public Opinion in March 1942 shows that 93 percent of
Americans were in favor of the removal of Japanese immigrants and 59 percent supported the
removal of Japanese American citizens. Only 1 percent opposed the internment of Japanese
immigrants, while 25 percent opposed the internment of Japanese American citizens

The only divisive part of it was interning Japanese citizens
This has been a big selling point for the solar energy industry here in California. And, best I can tell, it is absolutely valid and accurate. Switch to solar. Save a boatload of money over the coming years.

I hope so, because CA is paying way more than the rest of the country.
California has some of the highest energy prices in the country.
Renewables make electricity expensive bc they are inherently unreliable & require 100% back-up power
Renewables made California electricity prices rise 7x more than the rest of the US
And renewables made Germany's electricity the most expensive, and Russia-dependent, in Europe

Renewables aren't in the saving money business.

I brought up this exact issue on the day of the flooding, but all the Lumpers here wanted to blame the NWS (Trump indirectly).
Still there's nothing wrong with building in the flood zone. The question/problem is that you need a plan and be able to execute that plan when needed.
Just days before the flood, the State of Texas approved the camp's evacuation process/plan.

But the camp leaders waited an hour after receiving the "life-threatening flood" warning before executing the plan.
