There is a difference between dying in a training accident and dying in direct combat.

Yeah... because it's a different kinda dead... battlefield deaths are special... battlefield deaths are important... the battlefield dead are the deadest ever... those guys were just on a training exercise learning how to set themselves up for death... so it doesn't count cause they weren't supposed to die... but they did it anyway... against orders.

One of the reasons for outsourcing duties to civilian contractors from foreign shores is to further reduce military financial obligations to those injured while doing the back-breaking work of the wartime support services. Dick Cheney raked in the bucks hiring extendible humans to do the grunt work... they don't count...
