Nonsense. I'm for it. What level? What's your expect dent in the deficit? There's $2 trillion to cover just to stop adding debt, in a government where most programs have extensive underfunding. You need $4 trillion to cover the federal infrastructure backlog. $500 billion for deferred maintenance. $10 trillion in discretionary unfunded priorities. There's also that $40 trillion debt.

100% confiscation, and liquidation, of all US billionaires gets you $6.6 trillion. It's enough to cover the current deficit for 3 years.

It's not a defense of billionaires to say whatever tax scheme you come up with is pissing in the wind of a far larger structural problem.

Currently 14% of the entire budget is just servicing current national debt. 59% is mandatory entitlements for SS, medicare, medicaid & other healthcare, income security, veterans benefits & services, and "small" mandatory programs like retirement plan coverage. That's $5.2 trillion between them.

That leaves Discretionary spending. It's the remaining 27%. Half of it is National Defense, the other half is "everything else", education, transportation, foreign aid, housing, science, law enforcement, etc. That's $1.9 trillion between them.

We're at -$2 trillion deficit.

Okay ClownShack, it's so easy, balance this budget and deliver your deliverables.

I want politicians who will fight for it, rather than the run of the mill democrats who say we can't spent our taxes on healthcare and education while Trump spends billions on himself and his wars and the J6 insurrectionists and his "bored of peace" ...

The US spends a lot of tax money, and takes out debt, for both healthcare and education. More is spent on healthcare than the military. More is spent on healthcare than the military, even with the half a triller bump military spending just got.

The #1 issue was inflation. Dem messaging on inflation was terrible. It was a progression of narratives culminating with telling them how not bad it was compared to places they have no frame of reference with.

Why are Republicans about to get handled in the midterms? Not a blue wave, but overall major setbacks. Inflation.
