I think Trump's makeover is simple vandalism. I think he's doing these things for the same reasons any callow, teen-aged vandal does: to show his hate towards others and what they value and to get attention any way that he can.

I don't understand how the Pentagon is short of cash unless Trump and his family are stealing the money.

Trump thinks that because he's winning all the battles in Iran, he's winning the war. But he isn't even winning all the battles. As for "strategy" versus tactics, forget about it.

The man is lost in this emotional/cognitive soup. His insanity and incapacity are backed up by a lot of cowardly men who frankly would not be recognized as being Americans three generations back.

Nuclear weapons solved the problem of the invasion of Japan. It was then hoped that they would solve the problem of large-scale conventional war, but they didn't.

Now we are all infinitely worse off because of them, and there's hardly a human being anywhere who doesn't wish they'd go away.

Don't you think it's weird that the discussion about AI oscillates from "it's a great labor-saving device" to "it has a perceptible chance of destroying all of us"?

Here's my suggestion: Have science fiction writers create books dealing with the problem of AI for the next twenty years, and then let's decide if we still want it.
