Two teenagers died after falling from trains in the past two weeks. Now, their grieving mothers are sounding the alarm about a dangerous trend of young people climbing onto the top of trains and "surfing" them, and posting stunt videos on social media.
Surfing trains has been a problem in NYC also.
To the point that the MTA (NYC's transit folk) have installed webcams to help them see when it is occurring and arrest those doing so.

An MTA train operator was operating a Stillwell Avenue-bound F train when she noticed a body on the tracks near the Avenue N station in Brooklyn, MTA officials said. The conductor activated the emergency brakes.

Hmmm ... looks like the video I originally posted has disappeared. So here's goes again ...
My paternal grandfather was a brakeman for the railroad. It was one of the most dangerous jobs around because train surfing in all sorts of weather was part of it. He was killed falling off and landing on the tracks as the train was moving. It was a mess. en.wikipedia.org #14 | Posted by RightisTrite
Wow! I had no idea that was part of the job. Always imagined some guy pulling a lever inside the train, like Bugs applying the "air brakes" on this airplane.
I used to watch this german kid who had some sort of incurable health issue (found the video it was leukemia which is what I thought but couldn't remember) and he would post train surfing videos including at least one on a german bullet train. Pretty impressive and I guess if you knew you were dyeing already and you find it fun go for it. This was the guy. Used to be a bunch more videos but I guess time has lost most of them (or I just don't remember enough details to find them).
