Ted Cruz Proven Right on Trump, Pecker, and Nat. Enquirer

David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer, testified at Donald Trump's trial Tuesday that the tabloid completely manufactured a negative story in 2016 about the father of Sen. Ted Cruz, of Texas, who was then Trump's rival for the GOP presidential nomination after the tabloid went after him, and Trump seized on the story.

As a legal matter, it's relevant that ------ and his former publication were focused on Trump's electoral needs - as opposed to Trump's family and/or personal reputation - when it worked with Michael Cohen, the candidate's then-fixer, on the Enquirer's campaign-season efforts.

"The CEO of the National Enquirer is an individual named David ------," Cruz said at a [2016] campaign event. "Well, David is good friends with Donald Trump. In fact, the National Enquirer has endorsed Donald Trump, has said he must be president." The senator lamented that his young daughters would someday "read these lies, these attacks that Donald and his henchmen, that his buddies at the National Enquirer spread" about their father.

After the tabloid went after Cruz's father, and Trump seized on the story, the senator also told reporters that the future president was a "pathological liar," adding in reference to Trump, "He doesn't know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth."

Mark this down as one of the few times ever that Ted Cruz has been 100% spot on accurate in his assessments.

The lesson being that Donald Trump is an even worse human being than is Ted Cruz.

Which is saying a lot.

Despite all of this. Ted Cruz has been supporting Trump ever since.

Republican politicians have no integrity

Zero hurt feelings for Ted Cruz, he made his own bed.

Also, he's got an ugly wife. Trump said so.

"If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you."

You know who else was absolutely right about everything? About the GodFarter's cheating with ------ and Russia, about what an absolute failure he would be in the WH, how his tax policies would favor the rich, about how he would weaponize the DOJ against his perceived enemies, and how he would stack the court and threaten Roe? HRC got all right.

Asked to comment on ------- testimony buttressing Cruz's earlier assessment of Trump as a scumbag, the Texas senator paused from tongue-swabbing Trump's lumpy backside long enough to mutter, "Say wha?"
