What Steve Bannon can expect at FCI Danbury (June 22, 2024)
www.corrections1.com

... Steve Bannon will soon be headed to Connecticut where the right-wing podcaster will likely be incarcerated in Danbury's low security federal prison following his conviction two years ago, according to a report from CNN .

So what might that change of scenery mean for the media giant who spent time in the Oval Office as Donald Trump's advisor?

Earlier this month a federal court ruled that Bannon must report to prison to serve out his term by July 1. CNN, citing unnamed sources, reported that Bannon's legal team had hoped he would be incarcerated at a minimum security prison, known as a "prison camp," but was ineligible.

Danbury resident Ian Bick served time at FCI Danbury for wire fraud, and now hosts a podcast called "Locked In with Ian Bick ." He described a prison "camp," such as Fort Dix where Bick spent the final year of his sentence, as "cushy."

"If you're at a camp, that's not even really prison," he said, though FCI Danbury has its perks. There is a bakery, Bick said, and a decent commissary and comparatively small population.

"Danbury's kind of known as a sweet spot because there's not a lot of inmates there," Bick said. ...

Locally, FCI is referred to as "the country club."

He's going to prison because he refused to do what many other Trumpers did: testify under Oath to Congress about their part in Trump's criminal actions to overturn the Election.

If the DOJ ever gets a shot at Trump for J6, Bannon will be squealing like a stuck pig as loud as he can; testifying against Trump to keep from spending the rest of his life in Not A Country Club.

His meth withdrawals may get him to confess to much.

That is yet another thing that pokes a huge hole in the "weaponization of the DoJ" argument that the GOP so often asserts.

If Pres Biden is indeed weaponizing the DoJ against fmr Pres Trump, why did so many, oh so many, of fmr Pres Trump's close associates voluntarily offer themselves as witnesses against fmr Pres Trump's alleged actions on January 6?

BANNON! What a candyass! It's only 4 months.

Because they were offered an option of turn or go down too.

Now you remember Holder-

The House has voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holderin contempt of Congress over his failure to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious scandal, the first time Congress has taken such a dramatic move against a sitting Cabinet official.

The vote was 255-67, with 17 Democrats voting in support of a criminal contempt resolution, which authorizes Republicans leaders to seek criminal charges against Holder. This Democratic support came despite a round of behind-the-scenes lobbying by senior White House and Justice officials - as well as pressure from party leaders - to support Holder.

-Did the same thing as Bannon
-No prison

Their only goal is to squelch War Room before the election. How can anyone not see that.

"Did the same thing as Bannon"

Wasn't there to perform the same role as Bannon.

Holder did things. A doer. Bannon was an advisor.

@#7 ... It's only 4 months....

In what the local call a "country club" no less.

I mean from the google aerial view, there looks to be a baseball field, a handball court, a basketball court, a running loop etc., on premises.

When I drive by it on rt37, heading to New Fairfield, I see a large expanse of open fields. So, space doesn't seem to be a problem.

Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury
en.wikipedia.org

... The prison had at one point included athletic facilities such as a running track, a soccer field, handball courts, a baseball diamond, and a handball field, since there is a large amount of outdoor area in the FCI Danbury property.[9] ...

Got to keep those inmates happy, I guess.

The gallows is the only thing fit for this POS.

Who are the witnesses testifying at the Jan. 6 hearings? (2022)
www.pbs.org

... Cooperated with the committee? Yes. Pottinger has voluntarily appeared before the committee and some of his testimony has already appeared as video during previous hearings.

In his testimony, he said that he decided to resign from the administration, where he'd worked since the beginning of Trump's term, when he saw the president's 2:24 p.m. tweet deriding Vice President Mike Pence.

An aide handed him a sheet of paper with Trump's tweet on it, Pottinger testified. It "disturbed" him that Trump was attacking Pence for carrying out his constitutional duty in overseeing the certification of Biden's presidential victory, he said.

"I simply didn't want to be associated with the events that were unfolding at the Capitol," he said, adding that the tweet added "fuel to the fire." ...

Since resigning, Matthews has been critical of Trump. On the one year anniversary of the attacks, Matthews tweeted that the Capitol riot was a "coup attempt" and said Trump "failed to meet the moment." ...

"Basically, the president got everyone riled up, told everyone to head on down, so we were following what he said," Ayres said. As the attack on the Capitol began and members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence were forced into secure locations amid the insurrection, ...

Yeah, your current alias' assertion seems to fall flat on its face.

etc., etc., etc. That article is a good read.

Both were held in contempt of congress sweatie. Both had the same charge and used the same defense. One got memoryholed and the other got prison. Ask your husband to explain before bothering me.

That article is a good read.

-state affiliated media. lap it up.
Of course they had a story for PBS. Part of the deal no doubt.

@#16 ... Part of the deal no doubt. ...

What deal was that?

Got a link?

"Both had the same charge and used the same defense."

I don't think Holder was charged.

#18 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-06-28 11:56 PM

He'll likely be spending weeks in Rikers Island during his September fraud trial.

The feds aren't going to be driving him back and forth from Danbury, CT to Manhattan.

Surely he'll be forced to shower. Maybe he'll run into Allen Weisselberg if he's still in Rikers.

So many convicted criminals in Trump's inner circle.

#19 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2024-06-29 12:48 PM

Since the Justice Department would have to seek an indictment of Holder - a department he oversees as attorney general - no criminal charges will be brought against him.

It's not about what was did, see, it's about who did it.
This is fine...
