Quinnipiac University Poll Finds Harris has Lead in 2 Key Swing States

One week after the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, the 2024 presidential race in three critical battleground states shows Harris leading Trump in Pennsylvania, holding a slight lead in Michigan, and the two candidates essentially tied in Wisconsin, according to Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pea-ack) University polls of likely voters in each of the states released today.

The electoral college may not even matter. Trump is betting all his chips on several states to refuse to certify a Harris win, which means no candidate will reach the 270 benchmark and the election will get thrown to the House of Representatives for a contingent vote ~ one vote per state.

The pressure is on in swing states to follow the example being set by the State of Georgia. Which means Trump would only have to get 26 out of 50 votes to win the presidency.

One would hope that there is some integrity left in this country to prevent a contingency vote. But with Trump, there are no guarantees. He's spreading it on pretty thick.

With the Mark Robinson fiasco, you might be able to add North Carolina to this list.

Lyrics excerpt...

...
Cold snap like a coiled spring
You can feel the frost coming on
We are Marigolden, dropping orange and umber
And barely holding on, just barely holding on
And now the downtown's dolled up with tinsel and angels
Seasons sneak like hair cuts teased apart and tangled
We were praying for awhile and we took it all down
Like garland and the traffic signals

[Chorus]
Leave the lights on
Cause it might be nighttime when I get there
When I'm on my way home
Leave the the lights on
Cause it might be nighttime when I get there
And I'm on my way home
...

Reminds me of so many holiday trips back home ...

Harris will win NC.
Texas, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Montana, Alaska, and other red states are in play.
If Trump loses one previous red state, which he will lose more than one, he's done!

MONSON

"Harris will win NC."

Hold that thought.

But these are weird times, and the enemy is demonic and desperate. I don't think we've seen his worst yet. We'll have a clue if Speaker Johnson is absent from the House Chambers on January 6, 2025 when V.P. Harris performs her ceremonial duty to receive and record the official electoral count.

I hope the Capitol Police have the forethought to scan the Capitol Building from top to bottom for explosives prior to and including that date.

Trump has a history of not losing gracefully.

In a way I hope he doesn't.

Maybe we should hope he tries to incite more violence so that President Harris can have him arrested. And get him off the streets before he does any more damage to America.

Does it matter what law he violates? Or if he even violates a law? If the prez determines it's in the best interest of the country and part of the President's job then no. It does not matter really because now the President is immune even if she breaks the law in the performance of her duties.

So Trumpy better hope he wins. He better cheat collude and incite as much violence as he possibly can to try to throw the election into chaos. And maybe in the end he will come out on top.

If he loses it's all over for him. And I think even in the depths of his dementia he knows it.

DONNER

Violence didn't work for Trump in 2020. Nor did a long string of lawsuits in the aftermath.

Trump has more reasons now to be even more desperate. My guess, if he loses, he'll try something more permanent and less dependent on raging crowds to accomplish his goal.

Yup.

One only needs to look at Georgia and the rules being put into place to delay and confuse the reporting of election results.

This time, he won't have Bill Barr or control over any federal agencies like he did in 2020.

And I've read there will be a large national guard presence on January 6th during the certification. And won't it be cool to have VP Harris tally up her own electoral college win?

Trump's candidacy, like the chart of his failing Truth Social stock, DJT, is on a downhill slope. Cat ladies, "they're eating dogs!," Robinson in North Carolina. And he only has about a third as much campaign cash and no massive ground game like the DNC and Biden, then Harris campaigns have in all the swing states.

@#9 ... national guard presence on January 6th during the certification ...

Yeah, that's the way it is looking.

Next year's Jan. 6 election certification will get extra security to prevent another riot
www.wrbl.com

... The Secret Service said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made the designation following a request from the mayor of Washington, D.C. The move means these are particularly high-profile events that might be targets for terrorists or criminals.

The Secret Service is in charge of running security for such events in a planning process that kicks off many months in advance. A steering committee for the Jan. 6 certification has been formed and will begin meeting in the coming weeks, the Secret Service said. ...

Yeah, my concern with the above is along the lines of...

... The Secret Service is in charge of running security for such event ...

That has been an issue of late.
