Republicans on Ethics Panel Vote to Block Gaetz Report

Republicans on the House Ethics Committee fell in line behind GOP leaders and voted not to release the results of their investigation into Donald Trump's attorney general pick, Matt Gaetz, despite growing calls from the Senate GOP to make the findings public ahead of his confirmation hearing.

So, all this time righties have been casually accusing everyone on the left of being groomers and pedos really was just projection...

This is a preview of things to come. The GOP will not stand up to trump, nor will our media.

thank god he's incredibly incompetent.

- he's incredibly incompetent.

His only saving grace, really. I expect he will accomplish exactly as much as he did with his Border Wall, and having Mexico pay for it.

I'm more concerned with people in his orbit hiding in his shadow and doing stuff very competently.

I remember when an overly enthusiastic scream on the campaign trail was a damning action.

Then we graduated to grey poupon mustard and tan suits.

Which inevitably led to venmoing underage women money to have drug-fueled sex parties.

The linear collapse of our nation is incredible to watch...

" I remember when an overly enthusiastic scream on the campaign trail was a damning action."

It was hilarious.

Seems to me this is a play to get Gaetz through confirmation.

It's definitely possible although I saw that Cronyn said the Senate will demand a copy of the report. Advise and consent can include simply not putting a candidate to a vote.

The Senate won't get a say if Trump recesses them to make his appointments.

should be renamed the 'without ethics panel'...

From what I've heard, what s reported to have occurred is:

1) The Ethic Committee voted along party lines, i.e., 5-5 about releasing the report as it stands now, i.e., in its incomplete form. A tie vote resulted in the incomplete report not being released.

2) The Ethics Committee voted 6-4 (or maybe even with a larger majority) to complete the report.

3) The Ethics Committee decided to hold another meeting on December 5, 2024.

So, does the Ethics Committee report matter anymore?

Will December 5th be a ho-hum day?

thank god he's incredibly incompetent.

He is.

The people he is surrounding himself with aren't.

He will do whatever they say.

Once he gets in he will turn over the voting machine code to Russia and our elections will look like Saudi Arabia under Saddam.
