A shooting near Tennessee State University has left one dead and multiple people injured as police continue to secure the scene.

... At this point, there are 10 victims that have been confirmed to have been involved in that gunfire, one of which is deceased. Five of them were transported from the Nashville Fire Department to local hospitals. ... Metro Nashville Police Commander Anthony McClain said the gunfire didn't appear to be directly related to Tennessee State University events that had included a parade and other festivities earlier in the day. The football game was taking place in another part of town when the gunfire happened.
