Teri Garr, Offbeat Comic Actress, Dies

Teri Garr, the quirky comedy actor who rose from background dancer in Elvis Presley movies to co-star of such favorites as "Young Frankenstein" and "Tootsie," has died. She was 79.

Just saw an episode of Johny Carson when her had her on. Johny was not hiding his, um respect, for her looks. :-)

I like her in every movie I've seen that she was in. Comedy to drama. And always likeable ...

From the NYT obit:

She tended to be frank. Writing in The New York Times Magazine in 2006, she dismissed the adage about being nice to people on your way up because you'd see them again on your way down.

"Not true, really," Ms. Garr wrote. "I find that as I gently descend the ladder of fame (the same one I viciously clawed my way up), I'm meeting an entirely different set of people."

Gifted onscreen presence, terrific timing, creator of many fond memories. RIP.
