Democrats Still Have Path to Retake House

Democrats have a chance to take control of the House after flipping some seats, but the majority party of the chamber is still up in the air.

No, they don't.

I hope they don't. Let the Republicans have it all because we all know they can't lead. Their platform consists of obstruction and complaining about the other side which doesn't play well when you control everything.

I want them to take control and pass Trump's policies so America can get what it voted for.

Maybe Dems will stop being idiots and trying to "Unite the nation".

"I'm going to put a Republican in my cabinet and campaign with Liz Cheney." - Kamala Harris

What an idiot.

Dems will lose the house as well. And Republicans will no longer have Dems to blame for the damage.

This brings up a curious question for Connies... How much time do we need to give Trump to "fix it all" before we can point out how big a failure his policies are?

I see absolutely no way that Trumps plans will help a majority of the American people. But I suppose there should be some amount of time for his next disaster to take effect.

With a GOP majority in both chambers, abortion in this country will be outlawed by the first day of Spring. Just watch...

If it only impacted the people that voted for them, I would say Eff 'em. Unfortunately women won't vote for women among other problems. When they anointed Kamala I said it was over - she has a double whammy.

I would say your post had some credence prior to Tuesday night, but there's a new sheriff in town and I suspect he's about to put the pants ------- in the back of the room - beginning with Mike Johnson.

I sure hope they can pull it off. This country should NEVER have all three branches controlled by one party. Besides, both parties have proven in our history that even when they do control all three branches they still get very little done so it's not even an effective way to govern like both parties claim when they do get that kind of power.

I tend to agree with you. People that vote for Republicans need to understand just how bad at governing Republicans are. They also need to understand who it is that the Republican party really represents. Sure, they'll throw some crumbs to the working glass but the real benefits of their policies are directed toward the wealthy.

That the republican party favors the rich is old news; people should be aware of that by now. So, the question must be asked: why are working class people voting against their own economic self interests? Are they ill informed? Incapable of understanding why things are the way they are and who is truly responsible? Economic self interest is secondary to other issues? What I suspect is that their own "personal" economy is the yard stick by which they determine whether or not the economy is good or bad which is not a bad way of doing things. However, except for the stimulus checks to individual voters, which Trump cleverly put his name on, government economic policy is not directed at the individual (unless you're a billionaire).

The policies of democrats will eventually help the working class; eventually being the operative word. As a result, it will take quite some time for democratic policies to win back the working class. It may take the policies of back-to-back democratic control of the presidency and Congress to win back the bulk of working class people.
