"should women be required to register for Selective Service"

The female presidential candidates want us to know they're still studying this issue, and they'll get back to us on that.

I think it is time or abolish the Selective Service completely. Wonder if it will be on DOGE chopping block?

Learned a new word last night.
The feeling you get when early in transitioning, (male to female) still appear somewhat like the other gender but get hit on anyway by older guys: ewwphoria

"I think it is time or abolish the Selective Service completely. Wonder if it will be on DOGE chopping block?"

I'd say there's 0.000000000% chance of that happening, at most.

U.S. immigrants are required by law to register with the Selective Service System 30 days after their 18th birthday or 30 days after entry into the United States if they are between the ages of 18 and 25. This includes U.S. born and naturalized citizens, parolees, undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, asylum seekers, refugees, and all males with visas of any kind which expired more than 30 days ago.

Do you think all newcomers, and now illegal visa holders have registered?

For all practical purposes it is abolished, as registration isn't being enforced.

I'd say there's 0.000000000% chance of that happening, at most.

Define "abolish", if a policy isn't enforced isn't it for all practical purposes abolished?

Yet it says, the National Registration Rate is 84 percent.

Do you believe it? I know of no one that has ever registered.

"Selective Service - Who Must Register
NOTE: With only a few exceptions, the registration requirement applies to all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants residing in the United States who are 18 through 25 years of age."

It makes you wonder why the selective service issue hasn't been addressed yet, especially since gender has been a hot topic the past few years. The current policy is it's based on gender "assigned at birth".

I think it should have been opened up all people regardless of sex/gender a long time ago. It's a clear violation of civil rights.
