Russia Forced Deportation and Adoption of Ukrainian Children

In a Dec. 3 report, HRL [Humanitarian Research Lab] exposed Russia's deliberate and systematic program of forcibly deporting Ukrainian children into coerced adoption and fostering -- a program that researchers describe as one of the largest missing persons crises since World War II.

Yale HRL found at least 314 Ukrainian children, primarily from the Eastern Donbas region, who since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 have been forcibly deported and listed in Russian adoption databases.

The program aimed to assimilate these children into Russian society, erasing their Ukrainian identities.

Many of these children were nationalized as Russian citizens and placed with families under a program ordered and directed by Putin. ...

I suppose I am being pedantic, but deportation means banning or sending someone back to their homeland. This is kidnapping.

This is replacing the economic slaves/soldiers lost in the invasion of your neighbor with your neighbor's stolen children.

It's pure evil.

But not all that different in outcome from refusing refugees from the nations you systematically invaded and raped economically as we and other nations have done.

Of course, sending them back to the hell holes we created out of their countries is a new twist of the knife.

And still the United Nations lets the mass murder of Ukrainians go unpunished. Russia should be tossed from the UN together who its allies. It is like watching Hitler invade Poland and still sitting down to tea with him.

Agreed! And Russia should be told it can stay a member of the international community if they change leadership and change course.

Unfortunately the UN is completely toothless and worthless.

In the last quarter century the US has killed nearly 3 million people just in Iraq. The last thing Ukraine needs is the US getting involved in their affairs.
