Why We're Talking About the Loophole That Could Give Trump a Third Term

Dahlia Lithwick and Mark Joseph Stern: Legal scholars have identified a potential workaround that a president with dictatorial ambitions might seek to exploit in pursuit of a third term.

Last November--with Trump continuing to float a run for an unconstitutional third term--I introduced a resolution reaffirming the 22nd Amendment's prohibition on a 3rd presidential term. House Rs take an oath to the Constitution--not Trump--and should have no problem supporting it.

If Trump can run for a third term then Obama could run against him.

This is so ------- stupid. One of the reasons Democrats failed to hold Trump accountable for the things he did do is because they wasted all their energy and focus on things he "might" do. It's hard to believe this isn't the work of a mole operaton.

Democrats fail to hold their own accountable (see Hunter Biden), how TF do they intend to hold anyone else accountable?

Perhaps you can tell us which government position Hunter Biden filled or why democrats had to hold a private citizen accountable for anything.

Don't worry with a response. I'm sure whatever you vomit up won't be worth the time it takes to read it.

He's the son of a sitting president who was found guilty on a weapons charge and ultimately defrauded the government through income tax evasion. He's also held positions as a liaison between foreign governments and private energy companies linked to his father.

Biden doesn't believe in above the law but h sure believes Hunter is.

No, not unless the constitution is amended and it won't happen.

This idea, while sound on paper, will never happen. It would require (1) King Dotard II to peaceably relinquish power at the end of his term, and (2) Dotard will place him self BEHIND another in a line of politicians. The second will never happen, and let's all stand ready to ensure the first does...
