The US Marshals Service has deputized members of Elon Musk's private security detail, giving them certain rights and protections of federal law enforcement agents. These private citizens can now carry weapons on federal grounds. If something went awry with the detail, the USMS could also be held legally liable, meaning the American taxpayer could foot the bill in a future lawsuit.

Any one of the 94 district US Marshals could have deputized these goons on behalf of Trumpf/Musk. When you enter a federal courthouse, you ae checked by a private security guard who is deputized a US Marshal. Walden Security has tremendous contracts protecting federal courthouses.
