EUROPOL: 25 Arrested for AI-Generated Child Sexploitation

Europol has supported authorities from 19 countries in a large-scale operation against child sexual exploitation that has led to 25 arrests worldwide. The suspects were part of a criminal group whose members were engaged in the distribution of images of minors fully generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Operation Cumberland identified 273 suspects, arrested 25 suspects, conducted 33 house searches, and seized 173 electronic devices.

Child sexploitation is going to increase thanks to AI. Worse, Felon Musk recently introduced the powerful "Grok" program which seems to have image generation in its capability.

"fully generated by artificial intelligence (AI)."

Seeing as no minors or any humans at all were harmed in the making of these images, what is the rationale for criminalizing the personal freedom to create such images?

8====D look I generated an image of a penis!

...operation against child sexual exploitation...

If the images are fake, what children have been exploited?

Legitimate question TFD. But not one most of us will feel to sympathetic about when it comes to dealing with the perpetrator. Kind of like Hentai sharing images of young children being raped. Pretty much no human beings feel that this is acceptable behavior. Except for the pervs who like it.

If those people exist, isn't better that they can obtain images that exploit no one?

I feel wrong even putting forth those arguments, but freedom is messy that way.

TFD: I would simply note that "better" may not be the right word to use in this instance. Because it is still revolting degenerate behavior.

Republicans are champions of "personal liberties" and creating images with AI is certainly a personal liberty.

Selling such images in "free markets" is another thing Republicans champion.

Jeffrey Epstein: International Moneyman of Mystery (2002)
nymag.com

... Epstein likes to tell people that he's a loner, a man who's never touched alcohol or drugs, and one whose nightlife is far from energetic.

And yet if you talk to Donald Trump, a different Epstein emerges.

"I've known Jeff for fifteen years.

Terrific guy," Trump booms from a speakerphone.

"He's a lot of fun to be with.

It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.

No doubt about it -- Jeffrey enjoys his social life." ...

AI-created children make investigating genuine exploitations difficult. Also, real children images are uploaded into the AI computer: www.justsecurity.org

" Also, real children images are uploaded"

This is why we need NIL laws.
