SCOTUS Weakens Rules on Dumping Raw Sewage Into Water Supplies

The US supreme court has weakened rules on the discharge of raw sewage into water supplies in a 5-4 ruling that undermines the 1972 Clean Water Act.

Sam Alito gave cities more leeway to dump raw sewage into our water supply by deploying a sleight of hand so clumsy that it would fail to impress a kindergarten class. This isn't statutory interpretation. It's a gut renovation of the Clean Water Act on behalf of polluters. slate.com/news-and-pol ...

Are we great yet, Republicans? Or do we need to bring back leaded gas to go a long with our sh!+ filled water?

It's a metaphor for what America is doing to the rest of the free world. Dumping our raw sewage(Trump) on the rest of the free world.

@#5 ... so not my problem. ...

Making your fellow Americans drink waste water is not a problem for you?

Why?

Don't you care about your fellow Americans?

""The city is wrong," according to Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who wrote the dissenting opinion, which was joined by the three Democratic justices, Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson. "The relevant provision of the Clean Water Act directs EPA to impose any more stringent limitation that is necessary to meet ... or required to implement any applicable water quality standard."

I questiion the scientific basis that the right wing ideologues based their decision on and that last sentence of the dissenting opinion or the actual meaning of the law which makes it clear that the Act definitely that the EPA is directed by the Act "to impose any more stringent limitation that is necessary to meet ... or required to implement any applicable water quality standard."

As these crazy right wing Justices seem prone to, they ignore any parts of laws that they want without a real legal basis. But it's not the first time that their own own political ideology won out over laws passed by Congress which have been in place for decades,
