Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says its military has "eliminated" Hamas's Gaza chief Mohammed Sinwar, one of its most wanted men and the brother of the group's late leader Yahya Sinwar.

Hassan Aslih, who was being treated for injuries from a previous Israeli strike, was targeted in what witnesses described as a drone attack on the hospital's surgical wing.
A doctor there confirmed that Aslih had been at the hospital for nearly a month after surviving an air strike on the same facility in April.
The Israeli military had previously accused him of involvement in the 7 October Hamas attack on Israel.

So the rules of this war say it's okay to kill someone recuperating in a hospital because he participated in the Oct 7 attacks.

By those rules, if you consider the creation of Israel and the Nakba an act of terror at least on par with Oct 7, it's okay to attack the perpetrators as they lay safe in their homes, as happened on Oct 7.

Also worth noting his level of involvement in the attacks is either being soft-pedaled by the BBC, or isn't specified by IDF. Either way, whatever his involvement was, it was enough to get him on the Kill List.

On Sunday, May 18, the IDF said the documents were found at the Gaza Strip which shows Aslih was a member of the Military Wing of Hamas Movement equipped with a military identification number. The copies are from August 2019 and list the name, "Hassan Abdel Fattah Mohamed Aslih."

The post reads, "On October 7, he infiltrated Israeli territory alongside armed terrorists, filming scenes of murder, arson, and looting. His footage wasn't news coverage but it was part of the attack itself, intended to glorify terror."

So his actual offense was having a number assigned to him by Hamas as part of their media team training division. There's a note on the second document which says the training division he is part of has been cancelled, but I guess that doesn't matter.

1948 was in the 20th century. Stealing brown peoples' land to build a theocracy, in the 20th century, was a bad idea in light of the wars and atrocities the world had just seen. Israel seems to be much closer to that ideal than any of the alternatives the Arab world has put forward, except maybe for Saddam Hussein's Iraq (pre- Gulf war).

And Israel allows the 25% of their population that is Muslim to live in freedom as full citizens with far more rights than would be afforded them elsewhere in the Arab world. And certainly more rights than would be afforded to non-Muslims in pretty much the entire Arab world.

If you think the people who dance in the streets when Palestinian ISIS hunts down and murders and rapes civilian men, women, and children in cold blood is heading towards secularlism or tolerance for others, I dunno what to say to that.
