Heavyweight boxing legend George Foreman dies aged 76

Boxing heavyweight legend George Forman has died aged 76, according to his family. Foreman, known as Big George in the ring, competed for decades starting in the 1960s, winning gold at the Olympics and numerous title belts - including the world heavyweight title twice. His first professional loss came to another icon: Muhammad Ali in an iconic 1974 fight. "Our hearts are broken," his family said in a statement posted on Instagram. "A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose."

Ali was my hero back when there were still heroes; his boxing skills, showmanship, and then his moral anti-war stance that hurt his career (when he could have just joined up, as he was offered to do boxing exhibitions in lieu of standard service). I had boxed Golden Gloves for a couple of years because of him. Wrote a college thesis about him as a modern hero.

Foreman was a powerful force, though, in the ring and out... and their matches were live on public airwaves, unlike now, so everyone could see them. RIP (Rumble in Peace!).

I think it was Forman on Muhammad Ali

"I never got hit so hard so fast."

After seeing what Trump is doing to this once great nation, he died from shame.
