DOJ Cutting American Bar Association Access to Judicial Nominees

Attorney General Pam Bondi told the American Bar Association (ABA) Thursday that the Trump administration would no longer cooperate as the organization vets its judicial nominees.

As attacks on judges, lawyers and the legal profession intensify, ABA President William R. Bay calls on the profession to stand up and speak out for the rule of law. Read his full column in the ABA Journal: www.abajournal.com/magazine/art ...

"Unfortunately, the ABA no longer functions as a fair arbiter of nominees' qualifications, and its ratings invariably and demonstrably favor nominees put forth by Democratic administrations," Bondi wrote in the letter to ABA President William Bay.

"Accordingly, while the ABA is free to comment on judicial nominations along with other activist organizations, there is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so.

Specifically, the Office of Legal Policy will no longer direct nominees to provide waivers allowing the ABA access to non-public information, including bar records. Nominees will also not respond to questionnaires prepared by the ABA and will not sit for interviews with the ABA," she added."

So it turns out that competence means having a liberal bias. Shocking!

This is a surprise?

Why?

The ABA vets lawyers based upon their ability to uphold the law.

The Trump admin apparently wants to vet lawyers based upon their adulation to the Cult of Trump.

Do you see a difference of viewpoint?

I do.

#1: Hi Corky: I wonder what law school grads Joe Biden (Syracuse University College of Law, 1968) and Kamala Harris (Stanford Law School, 1989) are thinking right now after they helped Benjamin Netanyahu accomplish his goals of Eretz Yisrael HaShlema in 2024 which resulted in non-Islamophobic Americans like us having to agonize in a festering stew of fascism, censorship, wealth transfer, and impending poverty for the next four years. Is there anyone on the planet that thinks Joe and Kamala are pals with Bibi after the 5 Nov 2024 catastrophe?

This is nothing new. I dropped my membership in the 90's due to their social and political rhetoric.

That said, I'm not an opponent of the ABA rating system and have cited it on numerous occasions.

You dropped your ABA membership?

(not asking to be contrary, but just to be specific.)

Yes, ABA is voluntary. State is mandatory.

You liberals really are stupid. Both Joe and Kamala were bottom of the class graduates at lower tier law schools. Kamala made it based on DEI as shown in her failing the bar.

ABA is purely political. Having a political bias means no objectivity and no fairness. They offer nothing that benefits America. Political organizations need screened out of all non objective politics.

The first thing we do,
Let's kill all the lawyers.

"Professionalism" and "Trump" are mutually exclusive terms, unless used in connection with such observations as "Trump really is a professional ________ (fill in the blank)." Por ejemplo, "thief," "-----," etc., etc., etc.

About time as should have been done decades ago.
