Justice Amy Coney Barrett Recuses Herself in a Charter School Case

The justice will not participate in oral argument, deliberations or vote. She gave no explanation.

The justices will hear a dispute this morning that could open the gates for public funding to go directly to religious schools. The case comes out of efforts to establish a charter school that would "fully embrace" the Catholic Church's teachings in Okla.[image or embed]

She likely knows it is likely to pass without her.

This would allow the government to put its hand on the scale, as to which religions WOULD get grants, and which wouldn't.

Sounds like violating the Establishment Clause to me.
