The justices will hear a dispute this morning that could open the gates for public funding to go directly to religious schools. The case comes out of efforts to establish a charter school that would "fully embrace" the Catholic Church's teachings in Okla.[image or embed]

Perhaps she is in favor of it, but does not want to go on record as being in favor?

She likely knows it is likely to pass without her.

Republicans never really believed in Separation of Church and State.

Republicans never really believed in the Constitution.

"a charter school that would "fully embrace" the Catholic Church's teachings "

Could you enumerate those "teachings" for the class?

This would allow the government to put its hand on the scale, as to which religions WOULD get grants, and which wouldn't.

Sounds like violating the Establishment Clause to me.

At its base, the teachings of the Catholic Church can be summed up as follows:
-love the Lord thy God with all your heart and all your soul
-love each other as yourself
-feed the hungry
-clothe the naked
-welcome the stranger
-visit those imprisoned
-be a voice for those who cannot be heard
-give up your belongings and take up the Cross

I find it very unlikely that such will be the message of St. Isadore School in Okiehomie. I also hope for the day--sometime soon after the SCOTUS rules in favor of this school--that Muslims somewhere in this country will seek a similar school charter, with Islamic tenets taught on the state's dime. Hijinks will ensue, with the hypocrisy and bigotry laid base...

Religious and other private schools getting money is a necessity after Democrats completely destroyed the public school system. It is why Democrats send their kids to private school as soon as they can afford to do so - just ask Liz Warren how quickly she took her kids away from the 'poors' once she had some money.
