Some Republicans Are Finally Growing a Spine

Congressional Republicans have generally hesitated to speak out against the president's funding freezes -- known as "impoundment" -- but defense hawks and other GOP lawmakers are gearing up for a showdown ahead of a fiscal cliff looming this fall and stoking fears of a government shutdown, reported Politico.

Their jobs are at stake in the next election, with a Blue Wave looking more imminent every time they double down on stupid and try to give rich people tax breaks by cutting Medicaid... for people in their Districts.

And if you look at it, the decrease in this billionaire boondoggle paid for by avg workers is minimal; they still get a big tax cut by just not bleeding people completely dry.

"Some Republicans Are Finally Growing a Spine"

That's what they're saying, but it's really the little blue pill.

Republicans aren't growing anything.

They're pretending to be against Trump's toxic policies, so they can say they tried to fight it, before they vote for it.

They need plausible deniability.

"I tried to prevent Trump from cutting your social security and Medicare! But it was going to pass with or without me, so I voted with my party."

Ah, the representative from Kansas...

Happened during Trump's first term too, this hopeful talk about the missing spine thing.
In the end, he was never held to accounts, though impeached in the House, and then he rallied his violent gang to attack the people counting the Electoral College votes.
If we do lose our democracy, it will be because of the unfathomable cowardice of today's Republican Party that refused to fight back against fascism.
