imo, the original sentence was cruel.

This new sentence seems to be more appropriate.

I also ask, how have they behaved during their incarceration time?

They should not have killed their parents. They should have found another way. Like walking away.

Regardless, they don't need to make it right with me in my mind.

But they make it right with themselves and their god before they die. Good luck with that.
