Trump Resumes Effort to Destroy Economy

Just when everyone thought Donald Trump's trade war and tariff frenzy had finally reached a period of weary -- if expensive -- attrition, the president made sure to remind everyone that his trade policy is just as erratic and arbitrary as ever. Trump is now threatening to level steep tariffs on iPhones and the European Union.

Comments

Tariff shock and awe... sorta like Iraq, but only financially and against much of the world and most of our (former) allies.

It's like when the Mob used to rob a bank and spray a lot of bullets around... just like that, actually.

Trumpers are too scared right now to even complain; like bank customers with their hands in the air.

More WINNING and another boost for the economy.

MAGA maroons are so easy to fool.

And the United Steelworkers might disagree with your uninformed assessment.

The union has contested the commitments it was offered by Nippon Steel. It points to a vow by Nippon Steel not to lay off any employees or close any plants. But the union said the pledge would remain valid only through the end of the current labor contract and would be subject to exceptions for "extraordinary circumstances."

After the current contract expires there are no guarantees.

Nippon Steel did not guarantee wages, jobs, or benefits beyond the expiration of the current contract in 2026.

"More WINNING and another boost for the economy."

More winning?

Less losing at best. But that's not a win.
