Two Sadists Indicted for Torturing and Killing Monkeys

Katrina D. Favret, of TN and Robert M. Craig, of NC, conspired with previously charged defendant Ronald P. Bedra, of Etna, OH, to create and distribute so-called "animal crush videos." The videos alleged to have been created included depictions of monkeys being sodomized with a heated screwdriver and a monkey having its genitals cut with scissors. The conspirators used encrypted chat applications to direct money to individuals in Indonesia willing to commit the requested acts of torture on camera. A year-long BBC investigation has uncovered a sadistic global ring stretching from Indonesia to the US that mutilate and kill baby long-tailed macaques on film. Source: BBC Report The FBI and USFWS are investigating. An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Mental illness is spreading in the US, as are dangerous online cults throughout the world. This sadistic and depraved behavior is just more evidence of that. Sources:

A crypto investor is charged with kidnapping and torturing a man in an NYC apartment for weeks (May 25, 2025)
    apnews.com

... A cryptocurrency investor has been arrested and charged with kidnapping a man and keeping him locked up for weeks in an upscale Manhattan apartment, where authorities say he was beaten, shocked and led to believe that his family was in danger if he didn't give up his Bitcoin password.

John Woeltz, 37, was arrested Friday night after the victim escaped from the eight-bedroom town house and flagged down a traffic officer on the street for help, according to prosecutors. ...

    An update ...

Photos show accuser in NYC crypto kidnapping leaving house freely, defense lawyers say
    www.houstonchronicle.com

... A man who says he was kidnapped by two crypto investors for his Bitcoin was seen in photos and videos "laughing and smiling" and moving about Manhattan freely during the days he claimed he was tortured in captivity, lawyers for the two suspects said in court Wednesday.

William Duplessie, 32, and John Woeltz, 37, pleaded not guilty and were ordered held in custody until their next court date on July 15. Prosecutors argue the man was clearly in distress because he ran barefoot and bloodied to the nearest police officer after escaping 17 days in captivity.

However, Duplessie's lawyer said Wednesday that videos show the accuser participating in group sex and smoking crack cocaine while "laughing and smiling the whole time." In other photos, Sam Talkin said, the accuser is seen visiting an eyeglass store with one of the defendants and could have fled or sought help at any time.

"The story that he is selling doesn't make sense," Talkin said in Manhattan criminal court as the defendants were formally arraigned. ...

Take personal and institutional sadism and Trump off these pages, and you'd not be left with much.

I've been reading lately about brain plasticity and cognitive enhancement, not to mention the physiological effects of new weight-loss drugs, and maybe I'm getting soft, but I've begun to feel for lab rats.

#1: Thanks, Lamplighter. Thanks for this info. The police in France recently broke a ring of torturer-abductors who snipped off the fingers of crypto-oligarchs.

A controversial book which I read years ago argued that mental illness (schizophrenia, bi-polarity) is spreading in the West. The authors cited the increasing prevalence of cases over the centuries. As a layman, I agreed with it, but others found their analysis flawed. USAFacts.org wrote that cases of mental illness are growing in the US (see above link).

How else can we explain the lunatic behavior we witness day in and day out, like these sadists mutilating defenseless monkeys? This is normal?

#5: One of my oldest friends had a white lab rat last century. From what I remember, 'C' was intelligent, affectionate, and fairly clean. BTW: Did you see the video I posted of the kitten comforting the abandoned puppy?

" Were these sadists as bad as chimps?"

What the actual does that have to do with this?
    Man, talk about false equivalency.
    No, look it up.

" What the actual does that have to do with this?"

It was an excuse to link a badass video. Nothing more.
