Pope Leo XIV pronounced two new saints during a Mass on Sunday. The Catholic Church is looking to Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati, two Italians who died young but whose deep faith has inspired millions, to inspire new generations of Catholics.

Looks like the dirty MAGAT whore doesn't like influencers.

And Trump thought for sure the choice would be a miracle worker like himself.

How dare they!

Time to wage war on the Vatican.

I don't like making fun of the religulous.

Oh hell who am I kidding.

A teenage "influencer" Saint?

You have got to be kidding me. Oh you're not?

Someone got healed after touching his T-shirt?

It's no wonder no believes in science anymore and they are banning mandatory vaccines (based in science) in Florida.

When you believe in fairy tales you will believe anything. Apparently.

DONNER

It's no different than some people believing Trump is the Second Coming.

"Time to wage war on the Vatican."

I don't know about Pope Leo but I'd have to say that Pope Francis was pretty "woke"!

To me this just goes to show the insanity of the cult. There is only one God but they raise random people to the level of minor deities, that are prayed to and people fill their homes and jewelry with icons to. All sanctioned by the church of the one "God". This part of the hypocrisy that was so apparent to me as a teen that I was glad when no longer forced to go to church or catechism.

Well, the Catholic Church pretty much missed the Reformation, although they did do some upgrades in response to the Protestant Church with the Council of Trent (1545"1563), and somewhat sense, but I liked the last Pope, and I love this guy, American Pope 'Big Balls'... who don't take no --- offa nobody!

And I like him a lot better than than the BB kid, who helped Elon scam the People.

Joan of Arc had a tougher path to sainthood.Just saying it meant something back in the old days.

Pure politics...the Church, as it likes to be known, is losing power in the world, and so needs young people in the pews. There was nothing in his background to even suggest a "miracle".
I find myself quite grateful for my atheist, which lets me look at all this and see if for what it is, just another con game to gain wealth and power. The Vatican is a foreign nation, and its paid employees in the US should have to register as Foreign Agents. I look at the far right fanatic Catholics that Trump installed on our federal Supreme Court to take down our First Amendment rights, and I fear for the future of our democracy.

Meh.... yes and no; some places yes, some not so much.

www.google.com

The part of the Church overall that is in it for wealth and power, a part that has always been there, in some places more than others, is losing followers in the West, even as it gains more power in politics in this country... but these are in no way the followers of the teachings of Christ.

The places where actual Christianity is gaining are in Africa and Asia, where the teachings that Jesus actually spoke are gaining popularity.

But even there, wealth and power, things that Jesus scorned, are vying for a place.

Ah! Another minor deity to worship in Catholicism.
