Medicaid Changes Will Hurt Family Caregivers, Experts Warn

Medicaid cuts under President Trump's sweeping tax and spending package will harm family caregivers, experts warn, by reducing access to health care for themselves and the people they care for, which could then lead to more caregiving responsibilities.

A constellation of physical therapists and other caregivers are essential to the life of Julie Kim's disabled child--and to Kim's development as her parent, she writes. Donald Trump's cuts to education and Medicaid threaten to steal these people away.

"experts warn". Who are these experts? These same "experts" told use shelves would be empty and inflation would go through the roof after the tariff deals.

The tariffs Trump keeps chickening out of?

You got less than nothing, Pukefish.

I'm sure there is a contingent that would like to ban family caregiving altogether. If family is doing the caregiving, it's much more difficult for the end-of-life industry to empty the bank accounts of the dying.

And I bet you still don't understand who will eventually be paying for those tariffs.

" as of June FY 2025, revenue from customs duties has reached $108 billion"

Tariffs are taxes, paid by importers and consumers on OUR soil.

#5 - There's no "eventually" in that.

They've taken more money from us than DOGE "saved" us.

How is that relevant to this? Are you expecting a 30K bonus too?

The article is clear - disabled people will unnecessarily suffer and die with Medicaid cuts to therapists.

MAGA and DOGE are EVIL.

Y'all get your $5000 DOGE checks yet?

Fecking rubes.

Hey,

Small town Texas here. We got some empty shelves. They are moving other product in to cover but we are missing some everyday products and other stuff is getting a lot more expensive.
