Micah Parsons Traded to Packers, Gets Record Contract

FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys have traded Pro Bowl edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, sources told ESPN. The Cowboys will receive defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks in return, sources told ESPN.

More

Parsons agreed to four-year, $188 million deal with the Packers that includes $120 million fully guaranteed at signing and $136 million total guaranteed, making him the highest-paid non quarterback in NFL history.

Comments

"Parsons released a statement on social media Thursday, saying in part, "I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control. My heart has always been here, and it still is. Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process."

Fact is that since he's been with Dallas, when he was on the field they were the best D in the League statistically, and when he was off the field they were the worst.

Jerrah just put a gun to his World's Most Valuable Franchise, and pulled the trigger... because of the way Micah runs his Podcast.

And for what? Two late first round draft choices and a, "used to be good" D tackle.

Worst trade in NFL history?

Its pretty bad,
-Cowboys get Kenny Clark and 2 1st rounders.
-Packers get Micah Parsons.

worst trade?

whoever the Colts got for giving Elway to Denver.

When there were 4-5 awesome quarterbacks in the first round that year.

#2 Thanks for repeating what I said! I always find that adorable!

82 year old man has 2 yr old's temper tantrum, trades away his best player on the team for very little in return... and this after they finally got another star on Offence to compliment CD Lamb, George Pickens, for a one year deal that now looks like a waste of money because YOU AREN'T TRYING TO WIN!.

This is Total Dumbassary.

I just want to see the Press Conferences from both Teams.

Jerry had success early on with his coach and friend. They made great drafts and turned the program around. Obviously it's very hard to keep that up.

And Jerry has been great for the NFL. That stadium alone has been a benefit for the league and will continue to be so. I guarantee you if the Chiefs move into Kansas....they'll be stealing all kinds of ideas from that stadium and others already have.

But he's made bad player decision after another and meddled way too much into things. I suspect other owners meddle a lot more than they should but at least it's more discrete. Jerry wants everyone to know he's a meddler.

toured the ATT stadium recently.....pretty friggin cool place.

Yeah, Jerry is the General Manager as well as the Owner. On almost any other team the GM with his record would have been fired long ago.

btw, GB comes Dallas Sept 28th.

The only way this smells like anything other than Stephen Jones' ass is if they now, right now this year... trade the two Draft picks they got for some real talent.

I think it's cute anyone still gives a crap about the Cowboys. They're the Knicks of football

---- that's right. Oh well, I'm at heart a Raiders fan (L.A. is a complicated NFL market) so I feel you

I was a big Kenny Stabler and Markus Allen fan. And, "The Mad Stork".

'
SO I just heard the Jerrah Pres Conference. Two things:

He didn't want to pay as much for as short a time as Green Bay did.

And he figures that getting 2 #1s could be 3-5 good players, which would also spread out the odds of losing 1 player to injury, and that they already had 4 good years outa Micah.... and that the REAL reason was the Cowboys haven't been able to stop the run for years, so they got a Pro Bowl DT.

But I looked at the top DT's just now, and this guy wasn't in the top 15. "So much for that!".

I'm heading up next week to spend time with family in the Dells and then Green Bay.

My uncle alerted me to the trade and is super excited about it. 53 sacks, and another young player on the other side of the ball in Jordan Love. Should be a great year for the Pack!

I'll be stopping in Janesville to take a dump and give Wisgod the finger as I pass through ...
