Trump says he will Ban Early Voting for Midterms in Panicked Rant

President Donald Trump announced Sunday that mail-in ballots and early voting would be prohibited for the upcoming midterm elections, citing false claims that the 2020 election had been "rigged," despite having no authority to outlaw such voting practices.

Trump is already panicking over the 2026 midterm. Today he posted "No mail-in or Early Voting" Next he will say "NO Democratic voting allowed." Trump is the greatest threat to our Republic since World War II

idk, a whole month of voting is kind of uncivilized.

Why not just Vote ID, Paper Ballots, 1 day voting.

Also be like Florida where you're legally required to finish tabulating in 24hrs after polls close.

Pres Trump still has not privided any manner of evidence that backs up his assertion that the 2020 election was rigged.

So, that assertion looks like just another one of his many lies.

And now, because of that lie, he apparently wants to make it more difficult of people to vote?

Why?

If I may ask ...

What specific problem does Pres Trump have with early voting?

Has he mentioned any?

@#5 ... Has he mentioned any? ...

Forgot to mention, aside from the fact that he lost that election?

Don't the states get to decide how voting works? Being a Republic, and all?

@#7 ... Don't the states get to decide how voting works? Being a Republic, and all?...

Well, yeah.

But has that mattered to Pres Trump and his MAGA supporters?

The "America First" crowd now seems to be more along the lines of "The Constitution be damned" in what they have espoused of late in their apparent obsequious bowing to kiss the ring of Pres Trump.

Perhaps Boaz might offer an opinion. Does a single branch of the Federal government get to decide how voting processes are managed in individual states?

The election deniers should sign up to be poll workers so they can tell us exactly how it was done.

Of course, they won't because it requires a background check and is a hell of a lot of work for near minimum wage. I did it for 10 years.

@#10 ... it requires a background check and is a hell of a lot of work for near minimum wage. ...

I remember a couple of encounters with election workers in my town.

The first was an election worker who was a neighbor of mine. She and her husband had known me for years. I went to parties in their next-door house.

But, when I showed up to vote one year, she was the official officiating.

I walked up to the table and she asked, may I see your ID please.

She knew who I was, yet she still did her assigned job. I respected her for that.

Fast forward to a few years later...

I went to vote.

I walked into the lobby of our Town Hall on my way to the voting area.

There she was, standing there. Along with a State Trooper.

I walked towards her, and I noticed the Trooper became active.

So I slowed down and let her come towards me.

We hugged and asked about how we were.

The Trooper backed off.

Kudos to that State Trooper for his appropriate response.
