Around two-thirds of voters say Trump has not lived up to their expectations on the economy and the cost of living, according to the new NBC News poll.

Trump is already in process of sabotaging the mid-terms.

He probably doesn't want to resort to actually suppressing those elections but if things that mere sabotage won't do the job, he'll try that.

Well, count me amongst the one-third who disagree.

Trump has entirely met my expectations, tax cuts for Elon Musk while raising taxes on everyone else. And squeezing what's left out of the middle and working class with tariffs and suing our government for a quarter billion dollars for having the temerity to possibly holding him responsible for his many crimes.

President Trump's bid to be awarded as much as $230 million by his own Department of Justice as compensation for the various federal probes into his conduct would likely face few legal backstops if successful.

The president confirmed Tuesday that his personal legal team was seeking out a settlement, a request that could prompt his own appointees " among them his former defense attorneys " to make the determination of whether to pay up.

I'm actually impressed that he requested such a low amount. Should have gone for $1 trillion. Not like anyone in the GOP/his SCOTUS are going to stop him.

The best thing they could do is can Schumer and get senate leadership that can actually communicate effectively.

If they keep that idiot they'll fail because "we're not Trump" will be the extent of the message.

While that IS a good proposal, the workers absolutely SHOULD own and control the means of production, it's unfortunately not one that is being or is likely to be proposed by the center-right Democrats.

We unfortunately have no mainstream socialist party in this country. Even worse, we do have a mainstream fascist party.

imo, the real thing to pay attention to is ... how will Democrats benefit from this apparent major faux pas of Pres Trump?

So far, I have to give it to the Dems in Congress for not backing down to Pres Trump's dicta.

But going forward into the 2026 election, what will be the talking points of the Dems?

And more important, will those talking points resonate with the voters that Democrats need?

History has shown the Dems have had a messaging problem.

Will they fix that for 2026?

Time will tell.
