Trump Touts Lower Cost of Walmart's Thanksgiving Meal (which has Less Food)

Since Tuesday's elections, Trump has repeatedly boasted that Walmart's Thanksgiving meal bundle is cheaper than it was under President Joe Biden. But there's also less food in it.

President Donald Trump keeps touting the fact that Walmart's promotional Thanksgiving meal basket is cheaper this year than it was last year. But Trump hasn't mentioned that this year's basket is different than last year's - in particular, that it contains significantly fewer items. | Fact check

More from the article ...

... In the wake of Republicans' heavy election losses on Tuesday, President Donald Trump has responded to voters' growing concerns by insisting the economy is actually experiencing a "golden age."

As tangible proof, he has pointed to the cost of Walmart's Thanksgiving meal bundle, which is roughly 25% less expensive this year than it was last year.

"Grocery prices are way down, and Walmart just announced that the cost of their standard Thanksgiving meal " this is the greatest, their greatest," Trump said in a speech to the American Business Forum on Wednesday, adding: "It is 25% lower than one year ago. That's a big deal."

Trump is right -- but the 2025 Thanksgiving bundle is also smaller than the 2024 package. ...

@#1 ... President Donald Trump has responded to voters' growing concerns by insisting the economy is actually experiencing a "golden age." ...

Perhaps a "golden age" for his billionaire buddies.

But for the workers who keep the great Country running, how is this a "golden age?"

Something else in Walmart's offer is that more of the goods use the store brand 'great value' rather than premium goods to reduce the cost. They didn't do that last year.

They also went down from 21 to 15 items in the deal I heard.

Not food but I went to the Walmart yesterday to get a new CO/smoke detector and they are 3 times what I paid last time. $59.00 and tax for one. Everything is more expensive. The Felon is a liar.

writes. "Its cheery slogan: Let's eat only two meals a day.'"
