Trump Admits He Doesn’t Believe Grocery Prices Are Rising

Trump Admits He Doesn't Believe Grocery Prices Are Rising as Americans Struggle President Donald Trump is brushing off the idea that Americans are being squeezed with rising grocery prices. In the East Room on Thursday, he dismissed concerns about the cost of living as nothing more than a political "con" pushed by Democrats, and he pointed to a single number to make his case. Thanksgiving, he insisted, is cheaper now. And he did not mince words. "So I don't want to hear about the affordability, because right now we're much less," he said.

He (Kudlow) appeared perplexed Tuesday by polls showing burgeoning dissatisfaction with Trump.

"They're just not good numbers in general," Kudlow told Conway. "Even though, you know, as I said, the economy is starting to boom and the inflation rate is not that bad. It's 3%. It's not getting any worse. So what do you make of that?"

Conway, who helped elect Trump in 2016 as his campaign manager, defended the president. She argued that the public has an "automatically negative" reaction to the word "inflation" " and that they hear the term more often than they do "Trump."

"And inflation is that one sticky issue that's been so stubborn since COVID," Conway told Kudlow. "People don't like what they're paying for things. But I would remind everybody, a year ago tomorrow, Donald Trump won in part because he said, They broke it; I'll fix it.'"

She continued, "It takes a long time to fix something that broken."

Biden took office in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic devastated the economy and resulted in the deaths of about 400,000 Americans. He went on to sign the CHIPS and Science Act, passing $280 billion in funding to boost domestic manufacturing of semiconductors.

Trump took office in January and has since launched mass deportations that frequently involve masked immigration agents snatching civilians off the street. He also announced steep international tariffs in April " which sent global markets into upheaval.

"Grocery prices are way down, and Walmart just announced that the cost of their standard Thanksgiving meal " this is the greatest, their greatest," Trump said in a speech to the American Business Forum on Wednesday, adding: "It is 25% lower than one year ago. That's a big deal."

The Trump is right - but the 2025 Thanksgiving bundle is also smaller than the 2024 package.

This year's package, at less than $40, contains 23 items; last year, there were 29.

The missing items this year include:

onions

celery

sweet potatoes

chicken broth

poultry seasoning

muffin mix

marshmallows

whipped topping and ...

.. pecan pie

But its "cheaper," right?

The man's going to have to stage a coup to stay in power. He's too stupid and emotionally compromised to do so without cheating and killing a few people.

The last dictator of Romania could not believe that his people were about to shoot him because he had been so wonderful to everyone.

Face it, Trump is gaslighting. He doesn't shop for groceries and that makes him out of touch with the public that does have to. Lying about it doesn't change the reality Joe Public sees when he has to open his wallet to pay for things like food, rent, and utilities.

We can't get rid of this lying, ignoramus, con man, quick enough. At the rate he's going now, it will take decades to return the US to what it once was. Every accusation to the Dems is a self confession.

George HW Bush didn't know how much a gallon of milk cost. That example of being out of touch may have cost him his reelection in 1992.

McDonald's is good at lowering the prices of their crap food during harder economic times to the point that it's more affordable than real food from the grocery store. They've been doing so since August, and even more so recently.

In Trump's mind, McDonald's is groceries, and it is getting more affordable.

So take that, libs!

What? No! Not our Trumpy! He would never lie to us!

He saw it on "TV" somewhere so he believes it is true and therefore it MUST be true!

This is someone who has never ever in their entire life bought groceries.

He is however a massive consumer of all things fried.

The Trump has announced that even cars are cheaper now!

But the problem is that they no longer come with tires and wheels.

Those will need to be bought separately.
