Kai Trump, the 18-year-old granddaughter of United States President Donald Trump, missed the cut at the The Annika LPGA tournament at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, on Friday. After shooting a 13-over 83 in Thursday's first round, Trump finished with a five-over 75 in the second round, placing her last in the 108-golfer field with an overall score of 18-over when she entered the clubhouse.
Trump is ranked only 461st in the American Junior Golf Association rankings, which suggests she is a long way off from being competitive against professionals. That much was evident during The Annika, but it doesn't mean Trump can't have a bright future in golf. She has committed to play collegiate golf at the University of Miami starting next year, and if Trump is able to develop and improve her game, perhaps another LPGA Tour appearance could be in her future.
