Mayor Adams Looks to Stack Rent Board

Outgoing Mayor Eric Adams is weighing new appointments to the Rent Guidelines Board in an effort to block Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's pledged rent freeze. But finding candidates willing to take the post -- and face the wrath of tenant groups -- could be a tall order.

Yeah, as I have seen on the local news this week, Mayor Adams seems to want to do all he can to sabotage the upcoming Mayor-elect Mamdani.

My first question would be... why?

Asked differently, wouldn't a current Mayor of NYC want to hold the interests of the people of NYC in the highest regard, and help the next Mayor?

So, why does Mayor Adams seem to want, no..., no only want, but endeavor, to work against the next Mayor?

Is Mayor Adams that petty?
