Video: Reveals Flawed, Fatal Decisions in Shooting of Pretti

A frame-by-frame assessment of actions by Alex Pretti and the two officers who fired 10 times shows how lethal force came to be used against a man who didn't pose a threat.

When federal agents shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday, officials said he approached agents with a handgun, intending to massacre them. "An individual approached U.S. Border Patrol agents with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun." "This looks like a situation where an individual arrived at the scene to inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement."

But a Times analysis of video footage from the scene in the moments when two officers opened fire, clearly contradict federal government statements. Pretti does not appear to pose a threat to agents. In fact, at several critical junctures, he is outnumbered and under their control. Here are the key moments that reveal what happened.

It also clearly contradicts this thread...

Was it a negligent discharge.
Did the decedent's firearm go off as the officer removed it turned with it in hand.

... and the liar who keeps insisting that Alex Pretti's gun was fired.

It wasn't.

Fact: Alex Pretti's gun was never fired

The ICEhole actually nudged the other ICEhole away from Pretti before shooting Pretti. That was the FIRST gunshot. Pretti's gun never discharged. It's clear as can be. Sick as that was, after 4 shots from the 1st ICEhole, the 2nd ICEhole - the one that was pounding his Pretti's face with the tear/pepper spray canister, joins in and unloads his weapon as Pretty lay on the ground. Another 6 rounds from the two ICEholes.

Both ICEholes backed away from Pretti's body but continued to shoot him... 6 more times.

Feds have announced there's not going to be any investigation and there will be no cooperation or access to any evidence or the ICE personnel.
