Dad of School Shooter: 'Santa Claus' Brought his Son a Rifle

He said Colt shot a deer in their first outing, leading Colin Gray to believe he had "turned a corner" with his son. But the rifle Colt was using jammed, so Colin said, "We keep doing good, you're doing good, maybe Santa Claus will bring you one."

Prosecutors allege that Colin Gray is criminally responsible for providing his son with the gun used in a 2024 school shooting in Georgia. Cases like Gray's have become more common -- but experts say there's not much evidence they're an effective deterrent.

Sounds like his police interview gave the prosecution a lot to use against him. He gave a gun to the kid who he knew needing counseling because his "behavior had escalated and become more aggressive" in recent months and the kid even physically assaulted him.

Perfect example of why you NEVER talk to the police without your lawyer present.

The issue (to me at least...) isn't him buying his son a gun. He already had firearms in the house.

It's that he gave unrestricted access to them despite the known issues with his behavior.

I'm glad they're prosecuting him for this. These types of occurrences need to carry legal consequences.

Statistics are clear on the matter, if you bring a firearm into a household, the people most at risk from that weapon are people living in the house. When people lived miles from each other and getting their own food supplies was essential, owning a single shot weapon made sense. But in this wildly stressful world, having a loaded semiautomatic rifle within reach, when people lose their tempers and judgement, lives are lost.
Not to mention dogs are shot if they are worthless as hunting dogs...

UHH YEAHHH... How facinating that killing something for sport with a firearm is about bonding... rehabilitation... healing... its good to shoot something dead... Bonding over a gun... and killing... yeah right next to gawd that is... holey holey holey... pun intended.

Everyone is medicated these days... because they can't "cope" with modern life. (its pathetic really) So give them a gun... slaughter something... to relax... take the edge off... because heaven't knows we don't want edges.

I live in a world of medicated unhappy babies... on the verge of hissy fit... because life isn't dealing them the happinmess they are entitled to.
