Admin Testing Conversion Therapy on Trans People in Prisons

Under a new policy released Thursday, the Trump Administration will test conversion therapy on trans people in prisons. It explicitly states that it aims to help trans people "recover," all the while forcibly detransitioning them both medically and socially.

Last Thursday, the Trump administration released its new policy outlining how it will treat transgender people in Bureau of Prisons (BOP) custody. Under it, the approximately 2,200 trans people held in federal prisons will be denied access to medically necessary healthcare, subjected to constant misgendering by staff, and have all of their gender-affirming items"including binders, bras, and makeup"confiscated.

Instead, the policy will impose a treatment that targets "psychological distress/dysphoria" through "psychotherapy" (talk therapy) and "psychotropic medication" (like antidepressants) until the gender dysphoria diagnosis can be marked as "resolved." Additionally, the new policy designates gender dysphoria as a "mental illness" that requires "routine mental health care."

I'm sure that well thought out plan will work great with absolutely no repercussions.

If I were anyone in that chain of command I would avoid this like the plague if I didn't want to spend the rest of my life having my salary garnished to pay off the lawsuits

They will exist long after your stupid ------- religion.

You can't turn LGBTQ people straight.

It seems to me this is a form of cruel and unusual punishment. That they can do this so easily to imprisoned people is appalling and should be a warning to us all.
