Democrats taking the wrong lesson from recent wins

Democrats are winning races " and even redistricting battles " but some in the party worry they're not yet winning the argument. Recent victories "from a gubernatorial win in New Jersey to a favorable redistricting outcome this week in Virginia, along with a string of special election overperformances " have given Democrats reason for confidence. Heading into the midterms later this year, they say they're on solid footing to win the House, and there's newfound optimism that they could also flip the Senate " something that appeared insurmountable just weeks ago. But the success has also prompted a quieter concern inside the party: that Democrats are misreading what those wins actually signal. In interviews with The Hill, Democrats warned that some in their party may be mistaking backlash against President Trump for support of their policies and rhetoric.

There was a poll done recently that showed Dems winning elections under almost all circumstances. The exception was when a progressive Dem was paired against a moderate Republican.

I doubt it. Although I think most Repubs understand that by sticking with Trump, they are choosing to stay on a sinking ship.

The ship may be sinking, but it's the only ship we've got.
Republicans are going to stick with Trump, even if it kills them, us, and the Republic.

The GOP is a cult.
There's no easy way to leave a cult.
And Republicans are used to a life of ease and comfort.
Doing the hard work is for suckers and losers.

I do not disagree.

The Democrats need to follow Mayor Mamdani's lead and start talking with the voters instead of talking at the voters.

That way, the Democrats will start to understand what is really on the minds of the voters besides their disapproval of Pres Trump.

Another reason for the Democrats to change their approach ... the 2030 census is on the horizon. With it comes a wholesale redistricting of the Country. Given the population shifts of the past decade, how might the Democrats be laying the groundwork to handle those population shifts?

Of course, it is.

This is the Dem's constant screw up - they only perform well when independents/moderates are sufficiently disgusted with the GOP to vote for them. They ALWAYS take this as a signal to go full progressive and start trying to ram as much through as possible, which tanks support and hands wins back to the GOP the following cycle.

They never, EVER take a cycle or two to solidify and build further support or acknowledge voter's support and listen to what they prefer policy wise in future elections.

The declare every victory a clear sign of America wanting everything they want RIGHT NOW and f*&^ it up by believing their own hype.
