Big-Game Hunter Trampled by Elephants

An American millionaire big-game hunter has died after being crushed by a group of elephants during a hunting expedition in Gabon. Ernie Dosio, a 75-year-old vineyard owner, was hunting yellow-backed duiker, an antelope species, in the central African country of Gabon when the incident occurred last Friday. While in the Lope-Okanda rainforest, he and his guide unexpectedly came across five female elephants accompanied by a calf.

Seems they were laying in wait for him. The Momma has had enough. They may have thought it was TD Jr back to murder more of her children.

Interestingly.. It seems to have been a planned attack.

The elephants had no way of knowing what the intended targets were and were just doing what mama critters will do. Oopsie!
And I have no use for trophy hunters.

While hunting on April 17, Dosio and two other hunters unexpectedly came upon a small herd of female elephants and their calves. The adult elephants charged repeatedly, and Dosio was killed when he was gored by one of the elephant's tusks, the Times reported.
Female elephants have tusks?

I'd like to see some hunters attempt to emulate their oldtime Plains Indian counterparts by assembling a nifty necklace of claws from a grizzly bear you killed by hand with a knife. Possibly weed out a few thrill seekers.

Hmmm....thinking about this I realised if the hunter had been inside of a $400 million dollar ballroom this tragedy could have been avoided!
